Part of the fabric of Winston-Salem since 1927

Burke and Reuben Wilson founded the Wilson Brothers Lumber Company in 1927 just north of Winston-Salem in neighboring Rural Hall, NC.  The brothers established a strong reputation and quickly grew their business providing construction materials for the growing city of Winston-Salem.  The growth in their business led to expansion opportunities in the ownership and construction of commercial and residential projects throughout the Piedmont.

Since those humble beginnings and evolution over the years, what was started as Wilson Brothers Lumber is now Wilson Legacy LLC. Since its founding nearly 100 years ago, it has invested in Winston-Salem, developing not only the largest multi-family complex ever built in Winston-Salem to its time, but also building shopping centers, medical offices, and other commercial, residential, and multi-family properties.

Today – nearly one hundred years and a generation later – heirs of the original builders continue to invest in the future of Winston-Salem, as major owners of the new Legacy at Ardmore as well as other projects throughout Winston-Salem.
